Chapter 1

Comedy in advertising is always an attractive way to bring the eye to the page and stop the view. The image on page three is a very clever way of stating that not every cat and or pet can be helped in the same way and in trying to cure everything the same way it negatively affects the animals health. I feel that the treatment of the type on the slogan line could have used a different affect to bring it out from the background. I also feel that the use of the paragraph is not terribly necessary and would move the slogan line down to where the paragraph is simplifying the image even more.

Chapter 2

In chapter two, a similar use of comedy for the Eat Mor Chicken campain of Chick-Fil-A puts an impossible feat next to a very simple slogan with no need to add more allowing for a simple message. Knowing the commercials behind this campaign has only added to its effectiveness through short skit humor.

Chapter 3

The campaign on page 35 was the one that caught my eye in this chapter based on the lack of information it gives about the topic. Having not read about it in the reading I would have looked at it for a split sec and passed by it not gathering the message but getting the background context this minimalist design triggers thought about how valuable an object can be raising the attention around the handbag that carried all this "useless junk."\

Chapter 4

The image on page 54 at the base really inspired me based on the use of the caligraphy to create the figures. Though the designs are very simple they reflect the culture and feats of the olympics in beijing. It is a very clever and thought out design the keeps a playful feel to it.
This image is from a commercial ad for Fifa 14. The concept plays with the idea of a pealing off of skin and transforming into one of the characters of the game. The idea of pealing away the old makes it very attractive towards my idea for the New Balance campaign I've been thinking of in which the old new balance comes off of the new New Balance shoe. Through his transformation they also add playful imagery such as adding a six pack to the gamer.
