Critique 1:
Description of Application:
The application is a news feed aggregator that uses the
feeds of the selected news sources. The name of the application is Vistim,
which stands for “Visual Stimulus.”
Questions and Answers:
1.
Describe the challenge
·
Creating a clean looking application that still
shows an antiquate amount of information for each story, is easy to navigate
and flows well between articles and native menus.
2.
Who is the target audience?
·
The target audience is people who follow blogs
or news sources. With the death of RSS feeds there isn’t really a way to curate
news and updates that one wants to follow well. Also, most applications
available for this right now are trash, they are hard to navigate and not at
all pleasing to look at. One may as well use twitter to curate information
instead.
3.
What does the audience currently think about the
brand or group?
·
The audience does not know of the application
yet but similar products available at the moment are clunky and hard to
navigate or require a lot of work to set up.
4.
What would we like the target audience to think
and feel?
·
We want the target audience to barely notice
that they are using an application and present their reading material in such a
way that it is easier to catch up on events and articles.
5.
Which facts, evidence or thoughts will assist in
this change of thinking?
·
Creating a clean and easy to navigate
application that aggregates information in as seamless a way as possible.
6.
What is the brand essence?
·
Clean focused on content, providing a service
that no longer exists in a well executed state.
7.
What is the key emotion that will build a
relationship with the core audience?
·
Enjoyment though a stress-free news application.
8.
What media will best facilitate our goal?
·
The application itself, twitter and a blog.
9.
What are the most critical elements?
·
The application design and the blog design.
1. What
is the single most important takeaway?

A well built and designed application that does
what it promises
1. What
do we want the audience to do?
